Mr Denzil May is easily accessible for private patient consultations for patients who are privately insured or are self funding. He is recognised by all the major health insurance companies and is able to see patients, organise relevant radiological and endoscopic investigations and operate on patients privately at the Duchy Hospital, Truro.

He is happy to see patients on a self referral basis although a GP referral is often helpful.  Appointments for insured patients would normally need a GP referral and it is always worth checking with your insurance company before investigations and treatment to make sure you are adequately covered for your care. It is often necessary to perform additional procedures, such as proctoscopy or rigid sigmoidoscopy, at the time of your outpatient appointment for patients with colonic or rectal symptoms.

For self funding patients we are happy to arrange quotes for private surgery and subsequent follow-up care. If you are unable to see your GP and would like to see Mr May urgently, he may be able to see you without a GP referral. If this is the case please contact his PA for advice on appropriateness of this.

Mr May has regular clinics at the Duchy Hospital, Truro on Monday evenings and Wednesday afternoons but could arrange clinic appointments outside of these times to fit with patient needs
